The journey to Kuala Lumpur - Here they are!

Its happened - the moment you've all been waiting for.
We have finally gone.
We write this after a grueling 3 hour train journey, followed by a 13 hour flight, finishing at our hotel after another unanticipated 2 hour coach journey.
As you can probably tell (due to all the inane rambling) we are shattered. BUT... here we are, now the REAL travel blog can finally get started.

We have to stay awake for a few hours to stave off jet lag so here is an account of our journey so far!

For all the autistic followers out there the flight number was d72007 (information requested)
For all the people more interested in the tasty "meat and potatoes" rather than the practical "nuts and bolts"
1a) Started the journey by buying £14 worth of meal deals at Boots (TM) as air asia is so budget you have to pay extra for in-flight meals. Think we had the last laugh when we turned up with three bags full of sandwiches. The aircraft food looked shit (1-0 team Galice)
1b) Gareth's right knee seized when asleep during the flight, as the seats were too small, so was in agony. (1-1 team Air-Asia)
1c) As Gareth's knee had seized up he decided to straighten his leg into the aisle, and promptly tripped up an air hotess. (2-1 team Galice and game)

2) Arrived hotel: Fabled 'Fruit platter' at hotel turned out to be vacuum packed apple and orange with knife and fork!
2) Showered and ventured our for food, didn't have a clue where we were so ended up in a "Kenny Rodgers Chicken Restaurant" (very Malaysian!) but we were tired and hungry and in need of a drink, endeavor to be more authentic tomorrow! Wondered why everyone was sitting with food and drink in front of them but not touching it until cottoned on to fact that it is Ramadan. Special Ramadan song (and nightfall) signaled time to eat, we would have joined in and left our food in front of us until special Ramadan song was played. However, the food we ordered didn't come until after the Ramadan song, so weren't given the option of playing our part in the ceremony, therefore, felt a little more forced. But we were gracious and smiled along like good British people do. Tomorrow however, they may not be so lucky.

4) The exchange rate at the moment is 5.684 RM to the pound - bought RM100 for £17.59 (information requested)

5) We are now in possession of a map so off to discover more of KL tomorrow!

We would like to thank all the people we most probably imposed ourselves on during our month back in the U.K. We have had a lot of fun. Also those that are looking after our stuff, try not to sell it. We will be back.

Going to bed now.

P.S. Good to see the return of the blogman. Not sure I understood what he was on about, but it made me feel about 33% smarter. Thank you.

Meanwhile, back in the Mother-ship, the aging father has been sitting in his office counting students (1121 and rising - no infromaton requested) and the shining mother - who owns the ship - is pleased to report that it is raining and the bread and honey is good. No blackbirds currently within view so proboscae are intact. Full sail rigged and may your Lumpan adventures be merry.

I'm not happy about there being 2 lots of 2) in this blog entry. In fact I may stop following the blog if this kind of error is not eradicated - v. poor blogging.
